What is the Student Expression Advocacy Team?
The Student Expression Advocacy (SEA) Team, led by University Life, is a specialized team of student affairs professionals dedicated to supporting students who are planning or participating in demonstrations, protests, and other expressive activities on campus. The team serves as a resource to help students understand university policies, navigate expressive activities, and promote a safe, respectful, and constructive environment for public expression.
This team:
- Offers guidance to students on how to demonstrate in accordance with university policies.
- Fosters supportive and respectful engagement during events involving public student expression.
- Maintains a physical presence at events, as appropriate, to ensure a safe and constructive environment.
The SEA Team can help you:
- Understand university policies.
- Learn about your rights and responsibilities.
- Plan demonstrations and expressive activities.
- Connect with campus resources.
- Answer questions before, during, and after an event.
- Provide a supportive presence during events, when appropriate.
